Originally built in 1993, the Paul GUILHEM Deluxe comes in-between a Fender Deluxe Reverb and a Fender Vibroverb, without the tremolo but with a deep enharmonic sounding reverb, a footswitchable booster facility and several selectable power stage modes.

Réalisé en 2009, donc bien avant la réédition du VOX AC4 RI, ce VOX AC3 Top Boost est construit avec le chassis et le cab modifiés d'un VOX Escort fin 60's début 70's, dont les circuits et le haut-parleur étaient moribonds... Il s'agit d'un circuit à tubes (voir schéma) qui n'a aucun mal à faire oublier le circuit solid-state original !

Buit in 2009, so before the existence of the VOX AC4 RI, this VOX AC3 Top Boost is built with the chassis and the cab of a defunct VOX Escort from the late 60's early 70's. This is now a tube circuit (see schematic), which surpasses easily the original solid-state circuit !

This amplifier is somewhat a Fender / Marshall mix. You can get nice clean tones but you can also dial in a good array of "sweet spot" tone, ranging from subtle to heavy crunch, by playing between the volume and the master. Perfect for home playing, reharsal and small venues. It's a gift offered to a skilled amateur luthier friend :)

The Serial Tone Killer is a very modified version of the famed Dumble Overdrive Special : its sonic possibilites are enhanced and less exclusivery Rock-orientated. Moreover, it offers supplementary options versus the original, adding to its versatility for other musical styles. Le MARSHALL PLEXI 5 n'est rien d'autre qu'un Marshall Class 5 modifié...

Le Marshall Class5, produit de 2009 à 2012, a connu trois évolutions successives :

- La version I, avec panneau arrière tout bois et fente basse, était sujette à des vibrations mécaniques inacceptables dues à un manque de rigidité de l'assemblage, qui ont hélas nuit à la réputation du modèle.

- La version II, avec panneau et grille arrières, corrige ce défaut et introduit un atténuateur de puissance 0.1W.

- La version III offre en plus le montage vertical des tubes, encore moins soumis aux vibrations, de fait.

Il s'agit ici d'une version III, datée de 2012. 

The MARSHALL PLEXI 5 is nothing else than a modified Marshall Class 5...

The Class 5, produced from 2009 to 2012, endured three successive revisions :

- Version I, with full wood back panel and low vent, was inacceptably ridden with mechanical vibrations and adverse noises due to a lack of rigidity of the assembly, which entailed the reputation of the model.

- Version II, with back panel and back grille, corrected that flaw and introduced the Lo 0.1W feature.

- Version III offered moreover the vertical mounting of the tubes, reducing furthermore the influence of vibrations.

Here we have a version III, dated from 2012.

C'est une restauration-modification d'un amplificateur OAHU / Magnatone des années 50, recouvert de ce fameux gainage "MOTS" (Mother Of Toilet Seat), qui était en général vendu avec un Lap Steel guitar assorti, de la marque. Le circuit original sans transformateur et sous 117V a été remplacé par un mélange de Magnatone model 411 et de Danelectro DM-10...

This is a restoration-modification of a 50s OAHU / Magnatone "Mother of Toilet Seat" covered, which was usually sold as a set with an assorted Lap Steel of the brand. The original no-transformer / 117V circuit has been replaced by a mix of a Magnatone 411 and a Danelectro DM-10...

Une autre restauration-modification d'un amplificateur vintage de 1964, un DANELECTRO DM-10, un des concurrent du fameux FENDER Vibro-Champ... L'alimentation originale en 117V a été remplacée par une en 240V, avec un filtrage sérieux par self. Le transformateur de sortie était HS et remplacé également. Quelques rares autres composants ont été changés, mais sans plus...

Here's another restoration-modification of a 1964 DANELECTRO DM-10, one of the numerous challengers to the famous FENDER Vibro-Champ. The original PSU has been replaced for a 240V one, with a serious fiiltering by choke. The output transformer was dead and has been replaced too. Very few other parts needed to be changed to resurrrect this little amp...
